The military is a big part of my life – although I am not a veteran, my only sibling, Corporal Dan Michael Dennis, USMC, was KIA in South Vietnam on May 13, 1967, and was posthumously awarded the Silver Star for his actions that day. I was 11 yrs old at the time, and his death had a tremendous impact on me.
Every May, as we approach Memorial Day weekend, I send an email to my client list with a copy of my brother’s Silver Star citation and a few words to remind the readers that “freedom is not free.”
My father, Danny Paul Dennis, was a Pinpoint Navigator on a B-17 in WWII, and completed 30 missions over Germany. My uncle was in the U.S. Army and was KIA in France, and my father-in-law and mother-in-law both served in the USMC during WWII…
