Sensible Retirement Strategies

After college in the mid-sixties, Richard married and started a family while working in the aerospace field as a technical writer and department leader. From there, he established his own company in the sound recording industry, and after ten years, began another company in the phototype setting, printing and design field.

Twelve years later, while still in the graphics business, he opened an additional company in the music entertainment business for fifteen more years.

As a small business owner involved in financial and employee management, he has gained experience with insurance and investing. For over forty years, he has been an innovative problem solver and has helped hundreds of individuals, and companies, attain their goals with a wide range of projects.

As Richard’s parents retired from their careers in electric utility and public school management, he became closely involved in handling their specific needs as retirees. In addition to dealing with extended illness health issues, diminished physical and mental capacity, and finally their passing and related concerns, he became totally involved with their financial affairs.

Although both parents had pensions and retirement plans, he observed the severe erosion of their savings that had occurred during their careers from the volatility of the stock market and lack of any protection by their “trusted advisor.” As is true with many people, most of their advice had, unfortunately, come from sales professionals in the securities field.

With his parents’ attention consumed by very demanding careers, Richard could see the need for advice from experienced, independent financial specialists willing to put clients’ financial preservation before career advancement and compensation.

With the goal of making a difference in the lives of seniors, he made a shift in the direction of his career to include assisting retirees with their special needs, concentrating on investment and insurance concerns. Since 1999, under the guidance of several knowledgeable advisors, and considerable education, the scope and focus of Richard’s work has evolved into working in senior estate and retirement planning and insurance, and employee business insurance.
