Michael is the Founding Principal of Oikonomos Asset Management. Michael began his career in the financial services industry in 2011 working at Merrill Lynch in Grand Rapids, MI while attending school at Grand Valley State University. A few years prior to that, his curiosity in financial markets led him to purchasing his first stock; a very depressed Ford Motor Company that soon rallied back to pre-crisis levels. While it seemed simple at the time, as his career progressed, he began to understand the complexities of financial markets and the global economy.
The next layer of complexity was figuring out how to incorporate this knowledge in assisting individuals in achieving their personal financial goals and objectives. Michael’s various experiences working at a custodian bank, a financial planning firm, and a money management firm, have all shaped his views on how to best help client’s achieve financial success.
During this time Michael developed a unique and well-rounded skill set, learning from those he worked under, in addition to doing his own self-study and research over the past decade. Michael takes pride in his detail-oriented approach in understanding client needs and designing strategies to fulfill them.
