Michael Kessel is an Executive Director of Investments at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. and has more than twenty years of financial services experience. His clients, who consist of ultra-high net worth individuals, successful businesses owners, and multi-generational families, receive personalized advice tailored to their own unique financial goals and aspirations. Through risk analysis, Michael works to preserve client wealth, while also helping them achieve financial success by transforming their life’s work into sustainable legacies. He works very closely with his clients’ CPAs, estate planning attorneys, trust officers, mortgage brokers, and other financial professionals.

In addition to wealthy professionals, Michael often works with widows and divorcees. He knows there is more to wealth management than simply managing investments and cash flow. Whether families must choose an assisted living facility or nursing care for a loved one, or need assistance with a divorce mediation, Michael is there, delivering a layer of guidance and confidence they have come to rely upon.

Michael started his career in New York City in various institutional sales and trading roles, both on the high yield bond desk, as well as the CDS index desk, before moving to South Florida in 2012.

He has obtained his Certified Financial Planner Board (CFP) designation from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. and the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF) designation from the Center for Fiduciaries Studies. He holds the FINRA Series 7, Series 63, and Series 66 registrations, and also holds a Florida Life, Health and Variable Annuity license. He earned a dual degree in Finance and International Business from Penn State University’s Smeal College of Business.

Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and three children in their Parkland home. When not working with clients, Michael often travels, plays various sports such as basketball, tennis, and golf – and he coaches his kids’ sports teams.
