In 2006, she founded Melissa L George & Associates, a State Registered Investment Advisory & Financial Planning Firm located in Atlanta, GA. In addition to her own credentials, Melissa has a Chartered Financial Analyst [CFA®], a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA), and several finance interns on staff. We design & implement retirement income plans that guarantee our clients won’t outlive their money, reduces market risk & taxes, accounts for increased healthcare costs, and includes wealth transfer. Melissa received her BBA from Georgia State University and holds several licenses in multiple states. Her company is minority certified and has been awarded several contracts with city and county governments. She is a board member of Girls Inc. of Greater Atlanta and a member of the National Association of Women-Owned Small Businesses, the United Way VIP Alumni Association, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She enjoys weight training, running, golf, fishing, salsa dancing, traveling, and spending time with family & friends.
Melissa’s father served in the Army during the Vietnam War and retired from the VA Hospital In Atlanta. Her uncle served in the Airforce and retired from the Army Reserve. Although her father passed away in 2019, her affinity for working with military members and their families continues.
