Although there are more than 135,000 licensed Life & Disability/Health Insurance agents in California, there are fewer than 40 who also hold the coveted and specialized license known as Life & Disability Insurance Analyst. Max Herr has been one of those select few since 2012. His experience dates back to 1980, when he was first licensed as a Life Agent, and he has been continuously licensed since 1997. He also holds licenses as Property Broker-Agent and Casualty Broker-Agent, and is a non-resident licensed Life & Disability/Health Agent in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Arizona, and Florida. He has been a Covered California Certified Insurance Agent since 2013. He was previously licensed as a FINRA Registered Representative and Registered Principal (Series 6, 26, 63) from 1997 to 2008.
As an independent agent, Max represents multiple insurance companies and his primary objective is to connect clients with the insurance coverage most suitable for their specific needs, including term life insurance, fixed and indexed annuities, health insurance for individuals, families, and small businesses, as well as Medicare Supplement insurance, Medicare Advantage plans, and Medicare Part D prescription drug plans. He makes himself available to clients 24/7 by email, text messaging, telephone, and Zoom. When it comes to in-person meetings, he prefers to meet with clients in the comfort and privacy of their homes.
Max has written educational curriculum for insurance agents and PPACA Navigators, is recognized as a subject matter expert in Life, Health, Disability, and Property & Casualty insurances, and served for more than six years in that capacity as a member of the California Department of Insurance Curriculum Board (2014-2020), having been appointed by then-Commissioner Dave Jones. He also works with attorneys as an expert witness in civil litigation matters involving insurance contract disputes, agent misrepresentation and fraud, and insurance company bad faith, and he has represented insureds and insurance companies as both plaintiffs and defendants.
Max holds a Bachelor’s degree from California Baptist University and a Master’s degree from California State University, Fullerton. He is also the founder and CEO of Church & Ministry Compliance Consulting, an IRC §501(c)(3) religious nonprofit corporation serving churches and other nonprofit ministries across the United States. No other licensed insurance agent in California can match the diverse combination of education, training, and experience that makes Max Herr a unique, caring, and compassionate individual.

Max’s son, Gregory, retired as a Staff Sergeant following 20 years of service in the United States Marine Corps, including stationing on Okinawa at MCB Camp Butler (III MEF), at MCAGCC Twentynine Palms, CA (MCCES), and at MCAS Cherry Point, NC (2nd MAW), with deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Greg now works in IT for The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas. After graduating from high school in 1942, Max’s father enlisted in the United States Navy during WWII, and was stationed in Noumėa, New Caledonia. Morton Herr was honorably discharged as a Petty Officer First Class in 1947, and is interred at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California.
