I chose to focus my practice in estate law because I love to help people. I’m easy to talk to and will approach your case with empathy and respect. When you call Tapp Law Firm, LLC, you speak to me, not an answering service. I understand that estate planning and probate can be difficult, which is why I will be with you every step of the way. I have the experience and knowledge necessary to help families preserve their legacy and provide for their loved ones with comprehensive estate planning services.

I have a deep and profound respect for our military and their families. I have numerous family members who have served going all the way back to the War of 1812! More recently, my paternal grandfather served in the first MASH unit during the Korean war. I’ll never forget one year around Christmas time my grandfather had written a short biography of his life for an upcoming MASH reunion. I knew most of his life story but had never heard much about his time in Korea. I began to ask him questions and he told me all about the horrors of war, what he saw, the men he treated, the lifelong bonds he made, the scouting for new positions for the next field hospital behind enemy lines. He shared things with me that he had never really shared with anyone else in the family. I felt honored that he would share those experiences with me and, at the same time, horrified to hear for the first time in my life a firsthand account of what war is really like. I was probably around sixteen at the time and only knew about war from what I had seen in movies. Both my mother’s father and stepfather served our country. Her father was in the army and her stepfather was a fighter pilot in the air force, both serving during peace time. Going down the line my uncle retired as a Chief in the Navy. He was on nuclear submarines and routinely went out for long deployments with little or no communication with his family. I also have a very good friend who served two tours in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He routinely manned the machine gun atop Humvees during patrols. He doesn’t speak often about what he saw and did over there, but there have been a couple times where he has opened up to me. My heart aches for him when he tells me about the horrors of war. I can’t imagine the emotional toll combat takes on a person. I can only listen, empathize and remember how lucky I am to live in the United States of America.

I live in West Ashley with my wife Shannon and two young children. You can usually find us at a park or playground on the weekends chasing around the “little Tapps”. When not busy with the kids or work I am an avid golfer, surfer, amateur musician, and lover of craft beers.
