John M. Stolar, AIF^{® –} Co-Founder & Financial Planner

I am originally from the Pittsburgh area and came to Morgantown to attend West Virginia University. Following my master’s degree, I entered the financial services industry. My wife Lisa and I will be celebrating 33 years of marriage this year and have 3 grown children.

Helping people plan for and succeed in retirement is incredibly exciting and fulfilling. We have helped hundreds of individuals and couples retire over the past 34 years, and I continue to be enthusiastic everyday about supporting people through retirement.

Allen Poe and I started Orion Financial in 2001 during a 3-year downturn in the stock market. We had worked at a large New York firm and wanted to be able to offer our clients better investment opportunities and portfolio management that emphasized downside risk strategies.

When away from the firm I like to run and bike ride with my wife Lisa. I was also lucky enough to have Allen as a patient teacher as he got me into fly fishing.

Isaac T. Stolar – Advisor Assistant

Isaac Stolar was born and raised in Morgantown, West Virginia. He married his beautiful wife Katie in April of this year after meeting at the Pittsburgh Zoo a couple years back.

Isaac grew up watching his father and Allen build Orion Financial into what it is today. After graduating with a business degree from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, he felt called to join the family business. The gratification of seeing how his dad was able to help people in all kinds of situations drew him to follow in John’s footsteps.

We are happy to have Isaac join us as our newest team member in September of 2019. Isaac is continuing his education to earn different qualifications as well as every aspect of Orion Financial.

When outside of the office, Isaac and his wife Katie love to travel to state parks in West Virginia and the surrounding states to hike and see new places. They are also passionate foodies who love to scout out the best restaurants.
