Honoring a Tradition of Military Service
Dean comes from a long and distinguished line of military service, with family members who served across multiple generations and branches of the Armed Forces. His great-grandfather served in the U.S. Cavalry in 1906, and one great-uncle went on to become a Master Chief in the U.S. Navy at NAS Whidbey Island. Another great-uncle served in the U.S. Army from 1933 to 1946, while his uncle served as a Sergeant in the Army during the Vietnam era. Dean’s father-in-law and two brothers-in-law were also stationed at NAS Whidbey Island, and his cousin served in the U.S. Navy from 1948 to 1978.
