I love what I do and where I do it! I am a Portland Maine native and although I moved away a couple times, when it came time to start a family, I knew Maine was the place to give them the best start in life. I have raised three wonderful, caring children here in Greater Portland. They are all well-educated, creative and hard working adults now making lives of their own and I am proud of all of them.
For many years in the late 90’s I owned a real estate management company but it was when I started selling Real Estate that I found what I wanted to do for the rest of my life!
What a feeling it is to help people through the steps of purchasing a home! It can be an overwhelming process for people especially first time home buyers or families relocating to Maine who don’t know the area. I truly enjoy introducing people to what Greater Portland has to offer.
I listen to what clients envision and want in a new home, what fits their lifestyle and how they want to live their lives. There is no better feeling than finding that right place. You can see it on their faces and feel it when we walk into the home that is right for them. I always tell buyers to trust their gut. They will know it when they walk into the right place!
Listening to owners that want to sell their homes is just as important. It can feel just as overwhelming if not more so than for buyers. What are their goals besides getting the most money they can for it? It can sometimes be a very emotional process as well and so I approach a sale in a way that is right for them. I will go as fast or as slow as needed to make sellers feel they were well taken care of throughout the process. They may need help with downsizing, staging, storing as well as finding the right place for the next stage of their lives so timing is key.
I try to approach all aspects of buying and selling with warmth and maybe a bit of humor. My clients keep coming back so I must be doing something right. I am so humbled and grateful for their trust when they send family and friends my way and come back themselves! There is no better compliment.
