I started my Military career after my senior year of high school in October of 86.  Basic training was at Fort Knox Kentucky, the home of the Armor Training center.  Where I was trained for 16 weeks to be a M1 Abrams tank crew Member. From there I was sent to my regular duty station at Fort Hood Texas.  I was with Delta Company 166th Armor brigade 2nd armor division.  I was trained both as a driver and a loader.

During one of the top gun gunneries challenges I loaded on all four tanks in my platoon as we were short personnel.  I ended up being on the tank that scored the highest score in the Battalion and getting Top gun honors.  Number 1 out of 58 tanks.  I did also end up being the driver, for the company commander.  This duty sent me to Germany for 2 months for War Games with the Captain.

I originally joined the Army for the college Army for the GI bill and the College fund they were offering, so I did get out in Feb 2020 when my tour was up to go to College at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater.  I did stay in service by joining the National Guard with the 132nd support Battalion in WI.  I was assigned to Supply where I was the company amour.  In charge of Weapons, inventory, and maintenance.  I did this for 5 years ending up with a total of 8 years of service before getting out with the rank of Sergeant E5.  I graduated from UW Whitewater with a BA in Economics.

My father was also in the army during the Vietnam time and was stationed in Korea in the signal corp.  He got out as Sergeant E5.  My cousin, uncle and Grandfather all were in the Navy.
