I received my Life and health Insurance license in 1993 and became full time in 1995. I have been an independent agent for 32 years in S. Carolina. In 2000, I obtained my Property and Casualty insurance license. In 2015, I officially joined Coastal Insurance Brokers as an agent, offering Home and Auto Insurance through the agency. I continue in this capacity to today. In addition, I write both Life and Health Insurance for those seeking an Affordable Care Act policy as well as Medicare plans and supplemental coverage. As an independent agent, I can shop various companies based on the product in need. My portfolio includes the above plans as well as Annuities, Life Insurance (Term, Universal and Final Expense) and Dental/Vision plans.
I grew up in Brooklyn, NY, the eldest of four children. My father spent 31 years in the NYC Fire Department, rising to the level of Lieutenant. My mother was a stay-at-home mom and we lived in my grandmother’s house in the Sheepshead Bay section of the borough. I graduated high school in 1973 and attended SUNY Oneonta, NY graduating in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree. After college, I worked in restaurants and hotels and in 1979, I was hired by Marriott Hotels. I spent fourteen years with Marriott, rising through the food and Beverage ranks to become an Executive Chef of a hotel at 28 and a Food and Beverage director at 34. At age 40, I began my insurance career and continue to the present.

While I did not serve in the military, my father and father-in-law served in the Army for several years post WWII. One of my brothers is a retired NY/NJ Port Authority Lieutenant.
