About Jim Cnota

Jim was born in Chicago and was raised in Hoffman Estates. His mothers childhood home is still in the family on the NW side of Chicago where Jim would spend most of his summer. He is a graduate of St. Hubert’s School in Hoffman Estates and St. Viator High School in Arlington Heights. Jim attended St. Mary’s University in Winona, MN where he received a B.A. in Psychology and Biology and then returned to the University of North Dakota to receive a B.A. in Aeronautics and Statistics.

As a child, Jim would occasionally go with his father, a carpenter, to jobs. This began his interest in the real estate industry. Along with interest came curiosity and questions. When Jim found out that his great grandparents purchased and lived for many years in the Lincoln Park area and now that area is one of the hottest areas in the city, it was a done deal. It was very interesting to see the many possible ways a house could be different even though the layout was the same. After successfully working for a few different businesses in the area he decided to get a real estate license in 2006. He has been conducting real estate in the Chicagoland area for over 12 years and has enjoyed the interaction with each client. Because of his family’s military and first responder background, he feels it is important to give back to those who serve the community. He is a Military on the Move Certified Representative and a Military Relocation Professional.

Jim reconnected with his junior high sweetheart in 2013 and they married in 2016. They have 4 children. The oldest is 14 and the youngest is almost 3 years old. They have moved to St. Charles.

Jim took care of everything while I was away….He is someone who can be trusted and relied upon!

5/ 5

Jim was my realtor for the purchase of my first house, a townhome. He took me to look at several properties, trying to find the best place for me, in the middle of winter with snow storms and cold! I had a crazy work schedule and he worked around that and made time to take me to different places. Seven years later when I was ready to sell that townhouse, I naturally used Jim. Things became complicated when my mother had a stroke and I had to stay with her several hours away for days/ weeks at a time. Jim took care of everything while I was away and I never had to worry about the sale of my house. He is someone who can be trusted and relied upon!
